I have downloaded absolutely no movies or soundtracks from the internet, ever.
I have in my DVD collection, a grand total of ZERO pirated DVD's.

So why pay for movies when free 'dirty' downloads are available?

Let's wind the clock back a few months, to the release of 'Avatar' for example.

The most expensive movie ever made. It cost millions to make and NOBODY goes to see it because they have to pay for tickets, or for the eventual DVD. Instead everybody downloads a 'dirty' copy from the internet.
James Cameron and everyone else involved in making the movie are then declared bankrupt due to having no income or profite of any kind from the millions they spent making the movie.

Stretch that theory to ALL movies and studios, eventually the movie business is financially crippled and crashes and no decent or expensive movies get made for a long, long time.

All because people aren't willing to spend £5 ($10) on a ticket or £15 on the DVD.

Truthfully, I find that pathetic.

I agree, if you don't pay to watch or purchase a copy of a movie, how is the industry going to continue to produce movies? They can't.

Ignoring all the spam posters here... some people have made good points. How is the industry going to survive if we download all our films for free? Answer...it will survive, coz there is a huge difference between watching something on your laptop and watching something on the big cinema screen. When huge summer flicks like Iron Man 2 come out, not many people are going to wait 3 months before an excellent DVD rip is made of it into an avi file...

Plus there is a huge difference between having an AVI file and having a DVD....

I actually work for a movie theatre and one of the benefits is watching movies for free, and new movies before we release them to the public. I use to stream movies via internet, but now I can watch them in picture perfect quality.
