Default What is your favorite animated film?

So far I would have to say The Incredibles. At least the more current ones. I haven't seen them all, but this is one I wouldn't mind owning on DVD. I'll have to add it to my list with Happy Feet.

What about you?

I would say that my all time favorite animation movie would be Antz. I just enjoyed watching it every scene. I particularly loved the shot in which the ant colony will be shown in the huge city as a tiny place but would be shown as if it was a very big colony in the previous scenes.

Here's a list of my top animated and computer-animated features:

First, I'll star with thecomputer-animated movies:

5. A Bug's Life - Very nice details. One of the major things I look for in any animated feature is the character with which they are "drawn" so as to help to convey their personalities. I think this movie does a very good job of that.

4. Cars -I found the stories & characters pretty much so-so, but no one can deny the extremity of detail in the animation. Pretty friggin' amazing.

3. Appleseed - Holee sh#t....!

2. Monster House - Tho the animation doesn't have the chance to get as creative as comp.-animated movies that focus on non-human subjects, they do very well with what they have. The facial expressions are choice quality & the movements during the action sequences are both smooth & dynamic. The story is very good, the characters are engaging & the action scenes are very high in the area of thrill. This movie would've very easily made it to my number one spot if it weren't for....

1. The Incredibles - One of the best voice castings for the lead roles I've seen ( or is it heard?) & it has a great story, full of charm, wit & family chemistry. I always thought that Hollywood never seem to be able to put out 100% in any feature dealing with superheroes, but they really did with this one. The effects are incredibly cool, the over-all visuals are stunning & the characters are all drawn with an equally high level of quality & dynamicism ( .... is that really a word?). Added with the "Jack Jack Attack" story on the DVD, & I know that it will probably be a long time before the family "I's" get dethroned from #1 on my list.

.... and regular animated movies.

5. Titan AE - Okay, I know... I'm cheating here. There's plenty of computer graphics on this one. But the main figures are still 2-D "drawn", so I'll put it on this list. Besides, I like it alot, & don't know exactly where to put it. This movie showed us where the big-budget animated features were going not just commercially but artistlcally, also. And even tho you can notice some clunkiness to some of the computer-generated areas, the drawn parts are of the highest quality ( for it's time) & , for me, still comes off as quite visually stunning.

4. Sleeping Beauty - I saw this movie as a very young child, and the kickassery of the Witch & the dragon was probably the first time my little mouth uttered the words "Holy fuck....!".

3. Heavy Metal - You know, whenever I watch this movie today, and I cannot imagine today's generation being impressed with it at all. However, when it was first realeased, movies of it's kind had never been seen before. At least not by me, that is. This was the first adult animation I had ever seen & to my virgin eyes, I thought some of the movements were very realistic. It really opened up my eyes to what could be ( & eventually would be ) done with animation.
It's just one of those films that I find myself being personally partial to.

2. Akira -My first look at anime. Well, kick ass anime that is.
When I first saw this, I realized that, if I didn't have to work, I would spend all of my time lookin' up at what those crazy asians were concocting on the animation tip, yo.

1. Triplets Of Bellevue - I had 1st heard of this movie thru a review by Ebert & Roeper. And while they both praised it, they both admitted that they couldn't find the words to describe it.
So I ain't even gonna try. Lemme just say,
that the Triplets are once,
twice,
three times my #1 favorite animated movieee...
and I love you...
I lu-uhvv...

youuuuu...."

Twisted, isnit?

My favorite animated film is ratatouillie. The speciality in that film which i admired most is that ratatouillie's cleanliness, and smelling sense. And finally in the climax, the lady chef accepts to work with the rat of its skill in cooking, sensational work by the story creator. It was an awesome film, and the animation work carried out in the film starts from the leaves motion in the tree and zooming to the window of the home and till the end great animated work.
