Default In Bruges

I saw In Bruges yesterday and while it was an interesting film, one thing confuses me. When Harry is on his way to Bruges to punish Ken for disobeying his orders, he has a flashback/dream sequence of Ken weeping over a dead hooker (? I didn't get a good look.) while another hooker looks on, shocked. Harry asks the woman her name and she replies "Potter". Harry then marches into the police station (where people ask him if he's there to turn himself in), asks for Detective Potter, and summarily slices off his head.
I can't take this scene literally as someone who sliced off a detective's head in the middle of a police station would never see the light of day again. It's got to be Harry's embellished account of all the things he's done for Ken. Yet I don't grasp why Ken feels so indebted to Harry over this. Was Potter Ken's girlfriend and they hired a third just for fun? How did she end up dead? How did Ken end up standing over her body, did he pull a Lenny or something? How is Detective Potter involved? Was he the real killer?

I watched In Bruges two times this month. I liked the movie vewry much. I like this kind of movies. When I watched the movie I felt like this movie is very similar to Woody Allen's "Casandra's Dream"

I saw it a while ago and cannot remember all the facts but I do recall I enjoyed the performances particularly by Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes. I haven't seen Cassandra's Dream - I am definitely looking out for this one. Thanks for linking the similarities between the two.
