Men of Honour
My top three favourite movies are The Schindler's List, The Pianist and Life is Beautiful. All three are biographies of three different characters from the world war 2 era. So there is no doubt that I like movies which portray the lives of people who made it big despite all odds. This movie portrays the life of one Carl Brashear, son of one african farmer who is probably a slave, who aspires to become a diver and achieve the rank of Master Diver at a time when racism is strife. The characters could have been portrayed well as the director only concentrated on the character of Carl Brashear. Robert DeNiro gives an outstanding performance in this movie. The dvd of this movie has some extras like deleted scenes and reflections of the real Carl Brashear on this movie. Get a copy if you can
