Default What is the Scariest Movie You Ever Saw

Since Halloween is right around the corner, what is the scariest movie you have every scene. After trick or treating with my son, we watch a kid friendly movie while we hand out candy to the older kids. Than when the kids are in bed, my husband and a few friends like to watch a super scary movie. Any idea??

I love horror movies and admit that they are much scarier when viewing them in the cinema. I remember having slumber parties when I was younger and renting Nightmare on Elm Street just to scare ourselves silly! I watched both The Ring in the cinema and Friday The 13th and even though I had seen them both on dvd, the effects in the cinema just heighten the fright factor.

At first viewing 'Sixth Sense' freaked me out, but now I watch it and that spark has gone. Its a yawnfest now. A pity that the initial effect wore off quite quickly.
Other than that, during my childhood 'Gremlins' stayed with me a looong time as actually making me afraid to peer under the bed at night.

silence of the lambs. any scary movie that seems realistic (no aliens or monsters sort of thing) scares me.

The Exorcist is obviously one that springs to mind, though, it's more disturbing than scary.

Ghoulies 2 isn't exactly scary and has poo actors and unconvincing monsters, but, I was only 5 years old when I saw it, so it has kind of stuck with me!
