what are some of your favorite movies? what genres do you like the best?

slingblade and the big lebowski and the elephant man are 3 of my all time favorites

and i'm a sucker for great comedies and chick flicks.

My favorite genres are:
1. Thriler
2. Romance/Drama
3. Comedy

My Favorite Writer/Director is:
Jim Jarmusch

About Big Lebowski i can say that this is for me the comedy that is so good it is beyond Comedy .
The other two i didn't see but thanx for recommendations. And i invite the other for discussion.

It's always special to meet a kindred spirit in the cult of The Big Lebowski. lol

So when you view American movies, are they dubbed in Croatian, subtitled, or do
you speak English and watch them in English?

I'm newbie too and I have to say that this is the first time I've joined an forum.
Hope that we will be good friends and this will be a great experience for me

I watch them in English because translation is often bad and than movie loosing the point.
But like most of my favorite movies, the story with "The Dude" is unique. For a long time i was looking at this title "The Big Lebowski", and my brother was always telling me how good the movie is but i was trying to figure out what could be hidden behind these three words. And then i forgot about movie and what i read about it on imdb and start to watch movie without any prejudgment, and i can say that this is the best way and only that way can movie press all the right buttons in your head.
